Crane a Go-Go?

Today on 53rd street, across from Moma, near Donnell Library, the kodiak cranes were a go-go.

What is a kodiak crane? — apparently a tower that harbors a metal chomper and lifter – the company that created it dissolved in 1982. When taken care of the kodiak can function for 20 years. The math on the most extreme max expiration date is year ending 2002. see “Crane collapse probe to look at metal fatigue, human error“.

Alas, the news of a moratorium on kodiak cranes was faux. Only the less “powerful”cranes were “delayed” while the City bros held a “safety summit.”
