Color Cults and others

Today’s Sunday New York Times Style section carries women in black for the summer of 2008 pictorial, “On the Street Ravenwood.”

In 1910 Anne Rittenhouse dictated an article for the New York Times, “What well-dressed women wear; black once more to be well in the lead of fashion for the summer months.”

The years that followed 1910 were marked ones.
