Service Cuts in MTA Service?
What have we been experiencing for the past eight years?
35 years in New York City — the only change is on the negative side; please give us something positive for a “Change.”
Our station is not well maintained, peeling paint everywhere, cigarette butts throughout the station, graffiti on the walls and in the elevators, elevators that are not working, random schedules and frequent weekend service cuts and seldom commuting from 191st street “A” train to and from work at 57th and 5th in less than 1.5 hours (8 miles). At 57th street Columbus Circle rats roam the platform as roaches scurry about in the subway train and the platform at that station is dangerously narrow because still, after 8 years of uninhibited construction, unfinished stairs are still boarded up.
Hope you have a good day and have enjoyed the “A” experience. “This Conversation has been Dead on Arrival.”
The stationmasters do not do anything, they do not issue subway cards and they do not report graffiti, when asked they say that’s not their job. They do not report cigarette smokers in the tunnels and by the elevator bank and on the escalators and stairs. When asked they say ‘they are not police.’
So I ask where in the world do you think you would cut service for us? Its just not possible unless you just permanently close down the station.
I pay city, state, sales tax and federal taxes and $4.00 a day for the transit service. Don’t you think I ought to get something for my money???
