Is a Woman’s Worth Less than 50 Cents when it comes to Real World Speak?

B – i – t – c – h . .

boy are you gonna get it… “a milestone for the Academy to recognize hip-hop’s influence on American culture”–Aaron Rosenberg, Three 6 Mafia’s lawyer

So far I don’t hear a squeak about the Oscar’s approved word for tonight. The last time that word came to such a broadcast level was December 1997: MTV Drops “B***”Video (video released by the Time Warner music division under Madonna’s Maverick Label).(MTV Drops “Bitch” Video )

The protest tonight might well be continued Israeli protest of “Paradise Now“, a Foreign Film nomination, [news via CBS, March 2, 2006].

The top 20 search engine searches do not include the b*** word as an issue at this very moment. The Oscar approval is media license to freely joke and use the word that starts with b****… We wouldn’t want to be accused of not having a sense of humor would we? . . .Who knows the offerings for this Oscar Party seem lackluster, maybe noone is paying attention.

Where do we women, as a gender, stand with the stereotyping of “b*i*t*c*h*e*s” as the allowed official word of the Hip Hop Culture for the performance of Oscar-nominated ‘It’s Hard Out Here for a Pimp’ from the film “Hustle and Flow” tonight? [news via reuters 8:34 p.m. ET March 2, 2006. ]

Isn’t it enough that a woman CEO gets pulled down as kitsch on a biz mag.
Is Playboy-Post Hot or Not ?]

That to be a woman icon you’ve got to join ranks with Marilyn Monroe?
[Why is Stacked so Hot?]

Its impolite to expand on this cultural topic that’s popping off of its spandex at this very moment.

Is this a big deal, cause it smells …
The business papers, the issues on the desk of the Supreme Court and now this new addition to allowable ‘real world speak’ at the Oscars.

If Bono says f* the FCC thinks its harmless.

If HBO series says every possible variation of potty mouth they are…

“This has not been part of any swearing revolution, say the classifiers and commentators, merely a gradual shift towards what is judged as real world-speak.”

If Truck drivers write in they don’t like the Full Throttle stereotype….

If 50 Cents movie poster was deemed a portrayal of violence …
[Did 50 Cents get less than his 2 cents ]

Then Why is a word like b***** deemed significant to the culture of hip hop and thus allowable for singing out loud at the Oscar’s tonight? Why didn’t Oscar say use ‘hey, babe’ while they were cleaning up the other words?

“Aaron Rosenberg, lawyer for Three 6 Mafia, said it was a milestone for the Academy to recognize hip-hop’s influence on American culture and the group is extremely sensitive to decency concerns after the baring of Janet Jackson’s breast during the 2004 Super Bowl halftime show. “–[Curse word to make Oscar debut on Oscar broadcast ]

So I am running my own little oscars over here. ..
There are 1,580,000 google links for “bitches” and “hip hop”

Campus*Progress and the film, Beyond Beats and Rhymes: A Hip-Hop Head Weighs in on Manhood in Hip-Hop Culture (2006)

“Sabrina [beyond bitches and hoes] repeatedly stresses that Beyond Beats and Rhymes has no intention of promoting censorship in any way, but instead wants to encourage thoughtful engagement. “We’re not talking about censorship. We’re asking the question, is this an idea that we should be selling and perpetuating and
consuming thoughtlessly?”
